Who Was Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam?

Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. Through years of dedicated study and scientific work, he became one of the country's most admired aerospace scientists and public figures.

He worked with India's space and defence research programmes and served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Known affectionately as the “Missile Man of India” and the “People's President,” he was admired for his humility, curiosity, patriotism and special connection with students.
